Kathmandu : The examination of the 18 deceased from the Saurya Airlines plane crash will commence within two hours.
Sources from Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital have confirmed that all necessary technical personnel for the autopsies have been informed.
The postmortem will begin upon the arrival of relatives and representatives from Saurya Airlines. Additionally, the hospital has alerted teams specializing in fingerprints and DNA analysis. Families can expect to receive the bodies three days after the autopsies are concluded.
The crash occurred at 11:11 AM on Wednesday when a Saurya Airlines flight, departing from Tribhuvan International Airport bound for Pokhara, crashed and immediately caught fire. The incident resulted in the fatalities of 18 passengers, while the pilot, Manish Shakya, sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment at KMC Teaching Hospital in Sinamangal.
The aircraft, carrying 19 individuals, including Saurya Airlines personnel, was en route to Pokhara for maintenance.
