Kathmandu : The 38th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Limited was successfully held on 10 December 2024 at the Army Officers Club in Bhadrakali, Kathmandu. The meeting was chaired by Ms. Zarin Daruwala, the Chairperson of the Bank.
For the Financial Year 2023/24, the Bank reported an Operating Profit of NPR 4.7 billion and an underlying Profit After Tax of NPR 3.3 billion. With a Return on Equity (ROE) of 19.0 percent and Earnings Per Share (EPS) of NPR 34.7, the Bank continues to lead the industry in performance. Reflecting its strong financial performance, the Board of Directors has recommended a 19.0 percent cash dividend, along with a stock dividend of 6.5 percent of paid-up capital, totaling a 25.5 percent dividend payout. This decision highlights the Bank’s commitment to providing value to its shareholders.
Ms. Daruwala expressed her gratitude to all investors, clients, regulators, employees, and other stakeholders for their continued support. She remarked, “Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Limited is proud to contribute to Nepal’s economic development as the only international bank operating in the country, with a legacy that dates back to 1987.” She also emphasized the Bank’s focus on efficiency, which has resulted in a highest-in-industry Return on Equity (ROE) of 19.0 percent.
As of now, Standard Chartered Group holds 70.21 percent of the shares in Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Limited, while the general public holds 29.79 percent.
