KATHMANDU: President Ramchandra Paudel received Dashain tika, jamara and blessings from his guru and priests on the auspicious occasion of Vijaya Dashami on Wednesday.
President Paudel received the tika and jamara at 10:26 am, the auspicious time for tika, at the President’s Office in Sheetal Niwas.
In previous years, the President had also offered tika to members of the general public on Vijaya Dashami. However, the programme has not been held since last year, as the country has been facing challenging circumstances and the environment has not been conducive to peaceful and joyful celebrations.
Vijaya Dashami is the main day of Dashain, Nepal’s biggest Hindu festival, when people receive tika, jamara and blessings from elders and family members.
