Kathmandu, March 28
Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) declined by 29.98 points to close at 2,542.28 points on Monday.
The secondary market that opened at 2,572.23 points rose as high as 2,580.30 points within the first hour of the intraday trading. However, the market went into a straight fall in the rest of the trading time, posting a second day double-digit point loss in the Nepse index.
All 13 trading groups witnessed a fall in the average prices of their shares. The indices of life insurance and non-life insurance hit three-digit point losses while those of eight other groups fell by double-digit points. The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies also fell by 5.02 points.
The total turnover stood at Rs 2.54 billion while Jeevan Bikas Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited had its shares’ transaction worth Rs 222.47 million, the largest among the individual companies. ICFC Finance Limited was the top loser and Rashtra Utthan Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited was the biggest gainer.
