Kathmandu, Feb-13 : Indian Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra is arriving in Kathmandu today on a two-day visit to Nepal at the invitation of Foreign Secretary Bharat Raj Poudel.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed that the Indian Foreign Secretary would make an official visit to Nepal during February 13 and 14. According to the Embassy of India in Kathmandu, Secretary Kwatra is scheduled to arrive in Kathmandu this morning. During the visit, Foreign Secretary duo Poudel and Kwatra would discuss on several aspects of multi-dimensional collaboration between Nepal and India.
On the occasion, they would discuss several issues of bilateral cooperation, including connectivity, power trade, agriculture, health and culture, the ministry in a statement said. This is the first standalone visit of Kwatra to Nepal after he assumed the charge of foreign secretary. According to the Indian External Affairs Ministry, the visit is in keeping with the tradition of regular high-level exchanges between the two countries and the priority India attaches to its relations with Nepal under its ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy.
Nepal and India have civilizational and historical relations. Meanwhile, various infrastructure and cross-border connectivity projects accomplished with Indian assistance has further strengthened the bilateral collaboration between the two countries. It is expected that the visit would create further opportunities to enhance the persisting bilateral relations between Nepal and India to a new height.
