Kathmandu – A flight operated by IndiGo en route from Kuwait to Hyderabad was forced to divert to Mumbai this morning after a bomb threat was received at Hyderabad airport, sources said.
According to Indian media reports, an email alleging there was a “human bomb” on board prompted authorities to reroute the aircraft.
The plane landed safely at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai, where all passengers were evacuated. Security teams then conducted a thorough inspection.
The aircraft was moved to an isolated area within the airport as a precaution, and the entire cabin was checked by bomb-squad personnel. After a painstaking search, officials confirmed that no explosive device was found.
Passengers, though shaken, were later cleared to proceed. Airport authorities emphasized that safety protocols were followed diligently and said investigations into the threat — including tracing the origin of the email are ongoing.
