Kathmandu: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has officially announced the start of the bidding process for the Nepal Premier League (NPL) franchise.
CAN has released a Request for Proposal (RFP), inviting both Nepali and international firms to invest in the cricket franchise.
Interested companies must submit their bids by August 16. The RFP form must be filled out and submitted with a non-refundable fee of Rs 100,000.
CAN has specified certain qualifications for bidders. Companies must be registered with the Office of the Registrar, be VAT-registered, and possess a valid tax clearance certificate.
Foreign bidders can participate through a joint venture with a Nepali company. Companies with records of criminal charges, financial fraud, or money laundering are ineligible.
Last year, CAN organized the Nepal T20 League in partnership with the Indian company Seven3 Sports. The central working committee of CAN, in its meeting on July 5, decided to schedule the NPL for November/December.
