Kathmandu, September 2
Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has increased the price of diesel and kerosene by Rs 6 per liter with effect from 12 midnight on Thursday.
A meeting of the NOC Steering Committee on Thursday decided to increase the prices. According to the press statement released by the NOC on Thursday night after the meeting, although the prices of diesel and kerosene have been increased, the prices of petrol, aviation fuel and LP gas have been kept unchanged.
The price of diesel and kerosene per liter will be increased from Rs 172 to Rs 178 from Thursday night.
According to the NOC, the state-owned oil monopoly will incur a loss of around Rs 305.2 million in the next 15 days even after the adjustment of prices. The NOC said that it had to increase the price of fuel after the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC)– the sole supplier of NOC– increased the prices of the fuel products.
