Bhaktapur – MW Grithil, the official distributor of Chang’an and Dipal EVs in Nepal, inaugurated a new showroom in Radheshyam, Bhaktapur, on Friday. MW Grithil launched this showroom through Skyline Motors to provide customers in the area with a first-hand experience of the intelligent Dipal EV.
The showroom was inaugurated jointly by Madhav Kumar Nepal, chairman of the Unified Communist Party (Socialist) and former Prime Minister; Vishnu Agarwal, chairman of MW Grithil; Vivek Sikaria, managing director; and Vishal Pandey, director of Skyline Motors.
During the inauguration ceremony, former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal emphasized the importance of vehicles with artificial intelligence in terms of convenience and safety in Nepal. “Artificial intelligence has now entered not only the information technology sector but also the automobile industry,” he stated. He urged the government to reduce the import of diesel and petrol vehicles and to electrify transportation, railways, and industries to make use of the abundant water resources in the country. He also highlighted the need for the government to facilitate access to electric vehicles for all sections of society.
Additionally, Vishnu Agarwal, chairman of MW Grithil AutoCorp, pointed out that the popularity of electric vehicles in Nepal is rapidly increasing due to attractive designs, safety, reliability, and economic benefits. “Currently, 80% of cars imported into Nepal are EVs. This shows a growing trust in EVs among Nepali users,” he noted.
He expressed pride in representing China’s oldest and second-largest automobile company in Nepal. “Since we launched six months ago, we have delivered over 550 Dipal EVs, and all customers are satisfied with its performance,” he added.
Vishal Pandey, director of Skyline Motors, mentioned that they had already begun receiving positive market feedback before formally launching the showroom in Bhaktapur.
MW Grithil has already started operations in Pokhara and plans to expand its network to five more cities: Butwal, Birgunj, Narayan Ghat, Biratnagar, and Birtamod.
