Kathmandu – U.S. President Donald Trump has urged people “not to worry” about the situation in the West Bank, assuring that Israel will not be allowed to take unilateral action there.
His comments came after the Israeli parliament gave preliminary approval to a bill that would apply Israeli law to parts of the West Bank a move widely seen as a first step toward possible annexation.
Vice President J.D. Vance echoed Trump’s stance, calling Israel’s proposal a “political stunt and foolishness.” Meanwhile, Secretary of State Marco Rubio warned that such actions could seriously undermine Trump’s peace plan aimed at ending the Gaza war.
The statements from top U.S. leaders underscore growing unease in Washington over Israel’s political direction, as the administration seeks to maintain a fragile balance in the Middle East peace process.
