Nawalparasi : The Transport Management Service Office, Western Nawalparasi, has started issuing driver’s licenses for four-wheeled vehicles. The office was established on 1st of Falgun 2078 (2021).
Previously, the office had been issuing licenses only for motorcycles and scooters. With the expansion of services, it is now accepting online applications for driver’s licenses for four-wheeled vehicles (cars, jeeps, delivery vans), tempos, auto-rickshaws, e-rickshaws, and tractors, as informed by the office head, Shyamlal Nyaupane.
The office has been handling tasks such as Blue Book renewals, fitness inspections, route permits, license renewals, and the distribution of licenses for two-wheeled vehicles. In the meantime, following the implementation of the policy to issue permits after grading vehicles, there has been a reduction in accidents, according to the district traffic police chief, Amrit Bhandari. Recently, there has been increased enforcement of the rule that only drivers with mandatory permits are allowed to operate vehicles.
