Kathmandu: Gold prices have reached a new all-time high. On the last trading day of the week, the price of gold increased by Rs 1,800 per tola, setting a new record.
The Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Associations reported that gold was priced at Rs 146,700 per tola on Friday. This is up from Rs 144,900 per tola on Thursday, when the price had already risen by Rs 800.
Silver also saw a small rise, with the price increasing by Rs 17 per tola. On Friday, silver was priced at Rs 1,900 per tola, up from Rs 1,885 per tola the day before.
The price of standard gold went up to Rs 146,000 per tola from Rs 144,200 per tola the previous day.
The rise in gold prices is partly due to international market trends. Gold reached $2,409.76 per ounce on Friday, up from $2,381.44 per ounce on Thursday.
Silver prices have also gone up slightly on the international market, with silver trading at $31.21 per ounce on Friday.
