Gold prices in Nepal have surged to an unprecedented high, with the precious metal trading at Rs. 198,500 per tola as of Tuesday, according to the Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Federation. This marks a sharp increase of Rs. 1,900 from the previous record of Rs. 197,900 per tola set earlier this month. The price surge comes amid strong demand during the ongoing wedding season and reflects current global market trends.
Silver prices have also seen a moderate rise, increasing by Rs. 35 to reach Rs. 2,280 per tola compared to Monday’s closing price of Rs. 2,255. Market analysts attribute the price movements to international market fluctuations and seasonal demand patterns in the domestic market.
The record-breaking gold prices are particularly significant as they surpass all previous benchmarks in Nepal’s bullion market history. Traders report continued buying activity despite the high prices, especially for wedding-related purchases and investment purposes.
