Kathmandu – Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City Mayor Harka Sampang has intensified his criticism of Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah, labeling him a “foreign agent” in a recent social media post.
Reacting to Balen Shah’s recent statuses on social media, Sampang dismissed them as “off-season songs,” implying they are irrelevant distractions. He accused Balen of trying to divert public attention by talking about issues like ambulances and scholarships, while allegedly contributing to the country’s decline.
“The foreign agent’s status is nothing but an off-season song! After turning the country into ashes, now it’s about ambulances and scholarships? Enough. No matter how much you try to divert, the Nepali people have already identified you as a foreign agent,” Sampang wrote in a sharply worded post.
The remarks are the latest in an ongoing series of indirect jabs between the two popular mayors, both known for their unconventional leadership styles and large social media followings. While Balen has yet to publicly respond to Sampang’s latest comment, the growing tension between the two mayors continues to draw public and media attention.
