Kathmandu. Iran has rejected US President Donald Trump’s claim regarding the successful rescue of an American pilot. Iranian media outlets have countered the narrative, asserting that the rescue mission was a failure and that several US aircraft and helicopters were shot down in the process.
Earlier, President Trump had stated that the US military, utilizing dozens of armed aircraft, successfully extracted the pilot. He noted that while the pilot was injured, he was out of danger.
However, Iran’s Tasnim News Agency reported that the US rescue operation was targeted in the southern region of Isfahan. The report claims that two Black Hawk helicopters and one C-130 transport aircraft were brought down during the confrontation.
Iranian authorities have released several videos and photographs allegedly showing the wreckage of these aircraft. They have further accused Trump of fabricating the success of the rescue mission to cover up a military failure.
Despite these assertions, the claims have not been independently verified. As of now, there has been no official response from the US military regarding the reported loss of aircraft.
