Kathmandu – The effort to clear the landslide debris near Tui Khola along the Muglin–Narayangadh road section is progressing rapidly.
As of 2:45 PM on Thursday, approximately 60% of the debris has been removed, according to the Bharatpur Road Division Office.
A total of five heavy machines are currently engaged in the operation — one excavator and one loader from the Narayangadh side, and two loaders and one excavator from the Muglin side.
However, the clearing process has encountered challenges, particularly on the Narayangadh side, due to large boulders and numerous small, sharp stones. These conditions have led to issues such as tire punctures and even injuries to machine operators.
To tackle these difficulties, two additional operators have been deployed from the Heavy Equipment Divisions in Hetauda and Dumre.
The road division estimates that if weather conditions remain favorable and no further obstructions occur, the road could be fully reopened by tonight.
