Kathmandu – Authorities have said it may take until tomorrow afternoon to fully clear the massive landslide that struck near Tuin Khola along the Muglin–Narayangadh road section.
According to the Road Division Office in Bharatpur, an estimated 12,000 to 14,000 cubic meters of debris has piled onto the road, requiring significant effort and time to remove.
Photos from the site suggest that the risk of a major new landslide from above has decreased, but loose rocks still pose a threat, and smaller debris may continue to fall.
Clearing work has been ongoing from both directions since 6 a.m. today. The Road Division Office also informed that vehicles carrying essential equipment and fuel have been dispatched from Kurintar and Bharatpur to support the clearance operation.
To assist the process, the office has requested travelers to strictly follow lane discipline, as road department vehicles need smooth passage to and from the site.
