Kathmandu, October 31
New Case Alert: 408 new COVID-19 cases are positive whereas 518 people have achieved recovery and whereas 8 deaths have been reported in last 24 hours. The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 907,105 as of Sunday afternoon.
In this period, 5,731 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 376 returned positive. Likewise, 2,168 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 32 tested positive.
Of total tests, 6.56 per cent of the PCR and 1.47 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 5.16 per cent.
As of today, there are 9,376 active cases across the country. Of them, 761 are hospitalized, 225 in intensive care units and 70 on ventilators. Of the total cases so far, 791,787 people have achieved recovery.
Likewise, 11,407 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.4 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.
Meanwhile, 38,815 people were vaccinated today.
