Kathmandu, October 26
New Case Alert: 666 new COVID-19 cases are positive whereas 662 people have achieved recovery and whereas 11 deaths have been reported in last 24 hours.
The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 904,513 as of Tuesday afternoon.
In this period, 9,771 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 569 returned positive. Likewise, 2,249 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 97 tested positive.
Of total tests, 5.82 per cent of the PCR and 4.31 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 5.54 per cent.
As of today, there are 10,296 active cases across the country. Of them, 784 are hospitalized, 252 in intensive care units and 80 on ventilators.
Of the total cases so far, 788,630 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,372 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.3 percent and the death rate is 1.4 percent.
Meanwhile, 73,427 people were vaccinated today.
