Kathmandu – Nepal’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Tej Bahadur Kshetri, has raised concerns that other countries might impose similar visa restrictions on Nepali citizens, following the UAE’s recent decision to tighten visa regulations for Nepalese nationals.
In a statement, Kshetri acknowledged that the political instability in Nepal, particularly after the Gen Z protests, has led to many prisoners and criminals being released from jail, raising concerns about security and governance.
He emphasized that unless these issues are addressed promptly, nations like the UAE may further restrict visas for Nepalis.
Kshetri also expressed confidence that once peace, stability, and a trustworthy environment are restored in Nepal, visa policies would become more lenient.
He reassured that Nepali workers in the UAE are known for their hardworking, honest, and disciplined nature, and that the UAE government continues to prioritize Nepali workers for employment due to these qualities.
He further praised the UAE for being a peaceful and progressive nation, making significant strides in development and economic prosperity.
