Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has participated in the opening ceremony of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs) in Turkmenistan. The Prime Minister arrived in Turkmenistan on Monday to attend the conference, which is being held in Awaza city from Shrawan 20 to 23 (August 5 to 8).
Prime Minister Oli is attending the conference upon the formal invitation of Turkmenistan President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres. The high-level gathering brings together representatives from landlocked developing nations to discuss critical issues related to trade, transit, and sustainable development.
The conference serves as an important platform for LLDCs to address their unique developmental challenges and strengthen international cooperation. Nepal’s participation underscores its commitment to advocating for the interests of landlocked nations on the global stage.
