Kathmandu – Prime Minister Sushila Karki is set to expand her cabinet today, adding four new ministers to strengthen her administration, according to sources close to the Prime Minister’s Office.
The new appointments include Khagendra Sunar, Ganpatilal Shrestha, Bablu Gupta, and Sudha Gautam.
Their names have already been forwarded to the President’s Office at Sheetal Niwas, and the swearing-in ceremony is expected to take place later today.
According to the source, Sunar will lead the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Gupta will take charge of Youth and Sports, Shrestha will head Tourism, and Gautam will assume responsibility for the Health Ministry.
With these appointments, the expanded cabinet will include existing ministers such as Finance Minister Rameshwar Khanal, Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal,
Industry, Commerce and Supplies Minister Anil Kumar Sinha (who also oversees Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, and Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation), Education Minister Mahabir Pun, Agriculture Minister Madan Prasad Pariyar, and Communication Minister Jagdish Kharel.
This marks Prime Minister Karki’s first major cabinet reshuffle since assuming office, aimed at balancing political representation and accelerating government work.
