Kathmandu, March 6
The price of gold reached Rs 101,400 per tola (11.66 grams) in the domestic market on Sunday.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold Silver Dealers’ Association, the precious yellow metal was traded for Rs 99,900 per tola on Friday. The gold price jumped by a whopping Rs 2,000 per tola.
The price of standard gold rose from Rs 99,400 per tola on Friday to Rs 101,400 per tola on Sunday. Similarly, the price of silver rose by Rs 35 to Rs 1,415 per tola on Sunday.
The price rise of gold and silver followed their price surge in the international market, according to the Federation President Manik Ratna Shakya. Gold is being traded at approximately 1,970 dollar per ounce in the international market today.
