The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), the country’s lone secondary market, soared by 101.07 points to 2,667.97 points, on Sunday.

The benchmark index, which opened at 2,575.27, gained 3.94 percent on the first trading day of the week.

Similarly, the sensitive index increased by 3.32 per cent or 16.37 points to 509.90 points. The float rose by 3.88 percent, or 6.74 points, to close at 180.64 points.

The market on Sunday witnessed profits across the sub indices with life insurance index leading the pack of gainers with 6.94 per cent gain.

On Sunday, a total of 9,022,890 units of shares of altogether 228 companies were traded at Rs 4.870 billion, a huge rise from Thursday’s daily turnover of Rs 2.791 billion

At the end of the day, the total market capitalization stood at Rs 3.780 trillion.
