Maruti Suzuki has officially launched the new Dzire, which has achieved a 5-star safety rating in the recent Global NCAP safety tests. This compact sedan is part of its fourth generation. The starting price for the new Dzire is set at ₹679,000, and it will be available in four variants.
The new Dzire measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,735 mm in width, and 1,525 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,450 mm and a ground clearance of 163 mm. The car adopts a new design philosophy featuring a large hexagonal grille at the front and LED headlights on both sides. The rear is highlighted by a Y-shaped taillight with internal detailing.
The dual-tone interior of the car includes a dashboard with faux wood trim and a centrally located 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Additionally, the car features a three-spoke steering wheel and a traditional twin-dial instrument cluster. It also comes equipped with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control, rear AC vents, an electric sunroof, and a 360-degree camera.
Under the hood, the new Dzire is powered by Maruti’s Z12E 1.2-liter petrol engine, which claims to generate 81 bhp and 112 Nm of torque. The car will offer a choice between a 5-speed manual transmission and a 5-speed AMT. It also features an idle start-stop system.
In terms of safety, the new Dzire excels with a range of features including six airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Hold Assist, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), ISOFIX child seat anchors, and a rear defogger.
