Shanghai . Deepal, the new energy vehicle (NEV) brand under Changan Automobile, has reached a significant global milestone with over 500,000 vehicle deliveries worldwide.
In May alone, Deepal sold 25,521 electric vehicles, representing a 78% increase compared to May last year and a 27% growth from April 2025.
The Deepal brand currently offers six models in the market: SL03, S07, G318, L07, S05, and S09. Among these, the Deepal A09 was officially launched on May 22.
One of Deepal’s flagship models, the S09, is a large six-seater SUV available in five trims. It is the first vehicle to feature the HarmonySpace 5 Smart Cockpit System, which includes a 21.4-inch 3K ceiling-mounted rear entertainment screen with a 16:9 aspect ratio, capable of tilting from 0 to 75 degrees.
The SUV’s infotainment system is loaded with features such as dynamic panoramic sound, a kids-exclusive assistant, customizable scene blocks, and the innovative spatial magic cube function. It is also equipped with Huawei’s Qiankun Intelligent ADS 3.3 driving assistance system, with Deepal announcing plans to upgrade the S09 to ADS 4 by the end of 2025.
The upcoming ADS 4 system, built on WEDA architecture, promises to reduce end-to-end latency by 50%, improve traffic efficiency by 20%, and decrease hard braking frequency by 30%.
Looking ahead, Deepal plans to open 300 new experience centers across China in 2026. Having already expanded into Southeast Asia and the Middle East, Deepal has now also officially entered the European market.
At the Deepal Brand Night held in May, CEO Deng Chenghao unveiled the brand’s global roadmap, titled “Smart Lead 2030”, aiming to sell 2 million vehicles globally by the year 2030. As part of this strategy, Changan plans to introduce 30 new models over the next few years.
