Gulmi . Vehicular movement along the Kaligandaki Corridor remains halted following a rockslide that occurred on Monday at Baralla in Kaligandaki Rural Municipality-6, Gulmi district. The landslide brought down rocks and mud, completely obstructing the roadway and causing major disruption to traffic.
According to Bed Bahadur Thapa, Chairperson of Kaligandaki Rural Municipality, continuous efforts were made until late Monday night to clear the debris. However, fresh slides have hindered progress in restoring the road.
A police team led by Assistant Inspector Dev Bahadur Bhujel has been deployed from Bhurtung to the affected area to support clearance efforts. Inspector Narayan Prasad Adhikari confirmed that the team is coordinating with local authorities to monitor the situation and expedite the reopening of the road.
In the meantime, authorities have advised travelers to use alternative routes. The blockade has severely impacted passengers commuting to and from Parbat, Baglung, and Pokhara, as the corridor serves as a vital transportation link in the region.
Efforts to reopen the road are ongoing, but continuous slides have made the situation challenging. Authorities urge caution and patience from the public until the route is cleared and safe for travel.
