Kathmandu: Himalayan Everest Insurance (HEI) announced its partnership with Doko Recyclers to implement an innovative waste management program at its head office, marking a significant step in the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability and corporate responsibility.
Under this collaboration, all waste collected at HEI’s head office will be transferred to Doko Recyclers, a leading environmental organization specializing in waste collection, sorting, and processing. Since about 85% of the waste generated by HEI is dry waste, it can be recycled and reused. The company has collaborated with Doko Recyclers specifically to manage this waste responsibly.
Speaking about this initiative, HEI’s Chief Executive Officer Anju Shrestha said, “Environmental protection and sustainability is our priority. We have taken important steps to prevent waste from ending up in dump sites and instead directing it toward reuse.”
Along with its digitalization journey, the company has also committed to reducing carbon emissions. HEI plans to convert many of its office processes to digital systems that require minimal use of paper, which will support environmentally friendly operations. This initiative is a significant step toward ensuring the company’s long-term sustainable growth.
HEI is striving to move forward not just as an environmentally responsible organization, but as an exemplary institution too, and the company plans to expand this program to its branch offices as well.
