Kathmandu, April 10:
Minister for Urban Development Ram Kumari Jhakri has argued that Nepal’s economy is not in a shambles as rumored in the market.
At a program in the capital city on Saturday, Minister Jhakri said it is not unusual to have a trivial pressure on the economy. “Country’ economy is not in crisis as rumored in the market. The situation is not panicking,” she stated.
Some impacts of price hike in the crude oil in the Gulf countries and Russia-Ukraine war are seen in Nepal’s economy but the situation is not serious, according to Minister Jhakri.
Minister Jhakri also cautioned the stakeholders not to create artificial shortage of goods in the market by spreading rumors.
Stressing the use of electric appliances for import replacement, she called for promoting domestic industries to boost the economy.
On the occasion, Jhakri said the government has initiated actions after a probe into those engaged in leakage of sensitive and confidential information.
