Kathmandu: The Nepali Congress (NC) has asked Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ to step aside and allow a new government to be formed.
This decision was made during a meeting of the NC Work Execution Committee held at the residence of party President Sher Bahadur Deuba in Budhanilkantha, according to NC Spokesperson Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat.
Dr. Mahat explained that it would be appropriate for PM Dahal to make way for a new government now that the two largest parties in the federal parliament, the Nepali Congress and the CPN (UML), have agreed to form a new government together.
An agreement was reached between the CPN (UML) and the NC on Monday to establish a government of national consensus, and they believe other parties will support this new power arrangement.
