Kanchanpur . In response to the intense heat wave affecting the region, Belauri Municipality of Kanchanpur district has announced the closure of all schools for two days—Tuesday and Wednesday—to safeguard students, teachers, and staff from the adverse effects of the rising temperature.
According to Mayor Potilal Chaudhari, the decision was taken in view of growing health risks, with the well-being of children and school personnel as the top priority. He informed that the missed school days would be adjusted with the summer holidays, ensuring no disruption to the academic calendar.
“All community and institutional schools within the municipality will remain closed for two days,” said Mayor Chaudhari.
The region has been experiencing extreme heat for several days, making outdoor activities difficult. During daytime, public movement has significantly decreased. Local health workers have reported a rise in cases of nausea, eye infections (conjunctivitis), and fever among residents—symptoms commonly associated with heat-related illnesses.
The municipality urged residents to take precautions, avoid unnecessary exposure to the sun, stay hydrated, and prioritize health during this extreme weather condition.
