Kathmandu: BYD Auto’s official distributor in Nepal, Simex Inc., has donated Rs 5,100,005 to the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund through the Simex BYD Charity Foundation (SBCF) for flood and landslide victims across the country.
In a ceremony on Friday, Simex Inc. Chairman Anil Shrestha handed over the check to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. The event was also attended by Simex Inc. Managing Director Yamuna Shrestha and CEO Sahil Shrestha.
According to a press release from Simex Inc., “This is the first contribution from the SBCF, which was officially announced a few days ago. It reflects Simex and BYD’s shared commitment to corporate social responsibility. The foundation aims to contribute to the community through initiatives focused on education, health security, sustainable development, and disaster relief. By contributing to the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund, Simex Inc. aims to express solidarity with those affected by natural disasters and extend necessary support for ongoing relief and rescue efforts.”
Anil Shrestha, Chairman of Simex Inc., stated, “We are committed to providing support to Nepal and its people in collaboration with BYD as needed. Through the Simex BYD Charity Foundation, we are striving to make a meaningful impact by providing immediate relief and long-term support to those affected by the devastating floods.”
The company emphasized that this contribution not only showcases the SBCF’s dedication to responding promptly during national emergencies but also aligns with BYD’s global vision to positively contribute to society and promote resilient, sustainable communities.
