Kathmandu: Madhav Sapkota, a lawmaker from the CPN (Maoist Center), said that trouble for the government began when Bechan Jha was arrested for his involvement in the fake Bhutanese refugee scam.
Speaking to CPN-UML leaders in the House of Representatives on Sunday, Sapkota said, “Those involved in the Giri Bandhu Tea Estate scam shouldn’t lecture others on morality.”
“The Prime Minister and the Home Minister reopened the fake Bhutanese refugee scam case to promote good governance. Bechan Jha was arrested, and a lot of evidence was made public,” he said. “When the evidence against Jha came out, you got nervous and started seeing problems. A mouse runs away when it sees a hole in the boat, but brave people face the challenge.”
He added, “How can you, stained by the Giri Bandhu Tea Estate case and upset by Bechan Jha’s arrest, teach us about morality? Think about how you’ll clean up your own mess and regain your peace of mind after Jha’s arrest. Then we can talk.”
