KATHMANDU– According to Iranian media reports, Iran has launched another round of missile strikes targeting U.S. military bases located in Jordan. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targeted the Prince Hassan Air Base in eastern Jordan with missile strikes. Prior to this, Jordanian defense authorities stated that their air defense systems had successfully intercepted and shot down 18 out of 20 missiles fired from Iran.
In a simultaneous development, Iran issued warnings stating that it would target American warships and oil tankers associated with the United States. In response to strikes on its naval vessels, the U.S. military reported that it targeted and attacked five Iranian oil tankers.
The escalating military tensions between Iran and the U.S. over the past week have begun impacting global markets. Consequently, crude oil prices have surged across Asian markets as geopolitical concerns grow.
