KATHMANDU – Despite an ongoing ceasefire, Israeli attacks in Lebanon have resulted in the deaths of 14 people. According to the Lebanese Health Ministry, the casualties include two children and two women, while 37 others have been reported injured following the strikes on Sunday.
The attacks occurred just days after the ceasefire between the two nations was extended for an additional three weeks last Thursday. Under the terms of the agreement, Israel maintains the right to take military action whenever it deems necessary for its national security.
Prior to the strikes, a spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued an urgent warning to residents in several southern Lebanese villages to evacuate immediately, stating that remaining in those areas would be life-threatening. Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that the IDF remains active and is operating with force, accusing Hezbollah of violating the ceasefire terms through its recent activities.
