Kathmandu, August 31
The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 846,152 as of Tuesday afternoon.
The ministry said 1,664 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.
In this period, 9,117 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 1,523 positive. Likewise, 3,105 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 141 tested positive.
Of total tests, 16.70 per cent of the PCR and 4.54 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 13.61 per cent.
As of today, there are 35,591 active cases across the country. Of them, 2,377 are hospitalised, 537 in intensive care units and 164 on ventilators.
In the past 24 hours, 1,786 people have achieved recovery whereas 20 deaths have been reported.
Of the total cases so far, 716.306 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 10,750 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 93.9 per cent and the death 1.5 rate per cent.
