Nawalpur: A painting exhibition has been organized in Gaindakot Municipality on the occasion of Buddha Jayanti.
A total of 13 paintings by 13 artists are kept in the exhibition that started on Thursday.
Vice-Chancellor of Gaindakot Academy Govinda Raj Binodi said that the exhibition is aimed at disseminating the message of non-violence and righteousness.
Binodi also urged the media to provide importance to such exhibitions and artists from the mofussil adding that the arts and cultures are crucial in a nation’s progress.
Likewise, Member Secretary of Gaindakot Academy Bhim Sharma viewed that such exhibitions help promote our cultures, arts and heritages.
On the occasion, a talk programme was organized on diverse facets of arts. In the session moderated by critic Udaya Adhikari, litterateur Sarita Tiwari, artist Prakash Thapa and journalist Ramesh Kumar Poudel shared their views on contemporary trends of arts and other aspects.
The paintings kept in the exhibition have shown the relations of Gautam Buddha and pen. The exhibition shall continue for 10 days, the organizer said.
