Toyota has unveiled the production version of the Urban Cruiser EV. The new electric SUV will be based on the Maruti Suzuki E-Vitara. Toyota plans to launch this new EV in India next year.
The exterior of the new EV features U-shaped LED headlights, square-ish wheel arches, and LED taillights with black inserts. Additionally, it will come with 18-inch or 19-inch aero-optimized wheels.
The interior of the Urban Cruiser EV is similar to the previously revealed E-Vitara concept. It includes a dual-screen layout with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.
In terms of features, the SUV will offer automatic climate control, a wireless charger, a power driver’s seat, a sunroof, reclining rear seats, a JBL audio system, and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The EV will also come equipped with a 360-degree camera and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
Like the E-Vitara, Toyota’s electric SUV will be available with two battery options, 49 kWh and 61 kWh. The smaller battery will be paired with a single electric motor driving the front axle, producing an output of 142 HP and 189 Nm of torque.
The 61 kWh battery will be available in both single and dual battery variants, with outputs of 172 HP and 189 Nm, and 184 HP and 300 Nm, respectively.
