Saudi Air Defense Intercepts Houthi Missile Targeted at Riyadh

Kathmandu– Saudi air defense forces successfully intercepted and destroyed a missile fired by Yemen’s Houthi rebels toward the capital, Riyadh. Shortly before the attack, a fire broke out at a fuel storage facility near King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, which was subsequently brought under control by firefighters.

While the Houthis claimed to have launched missile and drone strikes targeting multiple locations across Saudi Arabia, including Riyadh, Saudi authorities stated that their air defense systems thwarted the majority of these attacks. The incident prompted an air raid warning in Riyadh and briefly disrupted flights at the airport, further escalating tensions between Saudi Arabia and the Houthi rebels.
