Kathmandu : Meetings of both Houses of Nepal’s Federal Parliament are scheduled to take place today, with several reports and bills listed on the agenda.
The House of Representatives meeting is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Sobita Gautam, on behalf of the Prime Minister, is scheduled to present the Eighth Annual Report (2083 BS) of the National Natural Resources and Fiscal Commission.
Similarly, Hari Dhakal, chairperson of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee, will present the committee’s report on the Bill Related to the Remuneration, Terms and Conditions of Service of Office Bearers of Constitutional Bodies (First Amendment), 2083.
The House agenda also includes a proposal from Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle seeking approval to send three bills to the respective parliamentary committees for clause-by-clause discussions. The bills are the Employees Provident Fund (Tenth Amendment) Bill, 2083, Citizens’ Investment Trust (Third Amendment) Bill, 2083, and Payment and Settlement (First Amendment) Bill, 2083.
Meanwhile, the National Assembly meeting is scheduled for 1:15 p.m. Minister for Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities, and Social Security Sita Badi is scheduled to respond to oral questions raised by lawmakers concerning her ministry.
The Prime Minister is also scheduled to present the annual report of the National Indigenous Nationalities Commission for fiscal year 2080/81 before the National Assembly.
Similarly, Puja Chaudhary, chairperson of the Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee, is scheduled to present the committee’s annual report for fiscal year 2082/83.
In addition, the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee and the Legislation Management Committee of Parliament are also scheduled to hold meetings today.
