Kathmandu: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane has pledged to continue cooperating with other political forces to strengthen democracy and advance political change in Nepal.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the Nepali Congress’s 15th General Convention in Kathmandu on Sunday, Lamichhane said the RSP would remain firmly committed to democratic values and principles.
He said his party would also play a role in correcting government decisions when they go against the public interest or democratic principles.
“We will not deviate from democratic values and principles. Our commitment to democracy will not waver,” Lamichhane said. “If the government makes wrong decisions, we will correct them.”
Lamichhane said the RSP would continue working with other political parties and forces on issues related to democracy and political transformation.
He stressed the need for political forces to move forward through cooperation rather than division.
“We will move forward together, step by step, in support of democracy and change,” he said.
Lamichhane’s remarks came as senior leaders from major political parties gathered at the Nepali Congress’s 15th General Convention in Kathmandu, where discussions on the country’s political direction and future course are expected to remain central.
