Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) increased by 16.87 points last week.
The market opened at 1,853.76 points on Sunday and closed at 1,870.63 points on Thursday. Despite posting gains in the market index, the daily turnover went to as low as Rs 552.80 million, which showed the low confidence of investors in the secondary market.
The market started at a positive note, with a gain of 44.62 points on Sunday. However, on the two consecutive days, the index plunged by 27.16 points and 16.06 points. On Wednesday and Thursday, the market again added up with 11.32 points and 4.15 points, respectively.
The total turnover in the past one week stood at just Rs 3.879 billion. It means the average daily turnover was mere Rs 775.8 million.
