Kathmandu: Chiranjibi Adhikari, General Secretary of the CAN Federation, has been appointed to the ICT Subcommittee of the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST). This appointment follows the 307th management council meeting of NAST, where several subcommittees were restructured to better align with key sectoral objectives. Prof. Dr. Sunbarna Shakya will coordinate the ICT Subcommittee, which includes notable members such as Prof. Dr. Manish Pokharel, Dr. Baburam Dawadi, Dr. Bhojraj Ghimire, and Er. Gunakeshari Pradhan, with Pradeep Dhodari serving as Member Secretary.
The ICT Subcommittee plays a crucial role in driving technological reforms and shaping impactful policies within Nepal’s digital landscape. With his extensive background in cybersecurity, Adhikari is poised to provide valuable insights and guidance on the subcommittee’s initiatives.
A Leader in Cybersecurity
Chiranjibi Adhikari is a prominent figure in the cybersecurity field, serving as the Founder President of the Center for Cybersecurity Research and Innovation (CSRI Nepal) and the chair of the Information Security Response Team Nepal (npCert). With over 20 years of experience, he is also dedicated to educating future cybersecurity professionals through his teaching roles at Softwarica College and Texas College. Additionally, Adhikari is the CEO of One Cover Private Limited, a dedicated cybersecurity firm.
His expertise is reinforced by multiple global certifications in IT governance, cybersecurity, AI-driven security solutions, and information security management systems. This diverse background equips him to address Nepal’s pressing need for robust cybersecurity frameworks and effective technology governance.
