Kathmandu – Japanese auto brand Honda is set to use Huawei’s Intelligent Driving System for the first time in its cars manufactured in China. Honda plans to install this system in its two new EV models, the YS7 and YP7, which are specifically aimed at the Chinese market.
Honda has partnered with Dongfeng to produce the YS7 and with GAC to produce the YP7 in China. After these models failed to win the trust of Japanese investors, Honda sought help from Huawei for collaboration.
Previously, Huawei had worked with Honda on the intelligent cockpit systems in these models. However, the Intelligent Driving System used in the vehicles was originally developed by Honda itself.
Huawei is the largest supplier of driving assistance systems in China. The company, known as China’s largest tech firm, currently supplies its Intelligent Driving System to other auto manufacturers such as Dongfeng, Changan, GAC, BAIC, Seres, Chery, and JAC.
