Kathmandu. US President Donald Trump has announced that every adult American citizen will receive $5,000 if the Republican Party retains control of the US Congress in the upcoming midterm elections. Addressing the Republican Midterm Convention, Trump referred to the proposed payout as the “Trump Dividend”. However, details regarding how the funds will be distributed or whether such payments are legally and fiscally feasible remain unclear. Distributing the payout to an estimated 270 million adult citizens would carry a projected cost of approximately $1.35 trillion.
Highlighting the achievements of his administration, Trump urged voters to support Republican candidates and pledged to campaign extensively across decisive battleground states and key electoral districts leading up to the midterms. While inflation and the conflict with Iran remain top concerns for voters, the convention focused heavily on launching political attacks against the Democratic Party. Trump also claimed that the war against Iran would come to a swift end, asserting that the conflict would terminate immediately following the election.
