Kathmandu, January 24
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), the sole secondary market of the country, plunged 100 points to close at 2,820.41 points, on Monday.
The benchmark index that had opened at 2926.12 today lost 3.43 per cent.
Similarly, the sensitive index fell 3.35 per cent or 18.20 points to close at 525.90 points. The float index also lost 3.40 per cent or 7.02 points, dropped to 194.04 points.
Likewise, all sub-indices recorded loss today in today’s market with Development Bank index leading the pack of losers with 4.50 per cent loss.
On Monday, however, daily turnover climbed to Rs 8.888 billion, with 17,063,833 units of shares of 228 companies traded in 113,205 transactions. On Sunday, the daily turnover was merely Rs 6.604 billion.
At the end of the trading day, the total market capitalization stood at Rs 3.986 trillion.
