Kathmandu — The US Department of Defense (Pentagon) has released an updated report on military casualties in the conflict with Iran, revealing that over 140 additional soldiers have been injured. The updated records also re-include the details of four soldiers who lost their lives in Iranian attacks last week. According to the latest data published in the Pentagon’s defense casualty analysis system, the US military campaign against Iran, which began on July 7, has resulted in 18 deaths and 624 injuries to date. Previously, the reported number of injured personnel stood at 482.
The fluctuating casualty figures had earlier drawn scrutiny from US media and lawmakers regarding transparency at the Pentagon. In response, 12 Democratic senators from the US Senate Armed Services Committee sent a letter to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth demanding an explanation for the data discrepancies.
