Kathmandu: A report with suggestions to improve the criminal justice system has been presented to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.
The Criminal Justice Administration Reform Study and Suggestion Taskforce, led by Attorney General Dr. Dina Mani Pokharel, submitted the report to the Prime Minister today.
The Prime Minister promised to take the report’s suggestions seriously.
The report focuses on improvements needed in the National Penal Code, 2017, the National Criminal Procedure (Code) Act, 2017, and the Criminal Offences (Sentencing and Execution) Act, 2017.
The Attorney General hopes the government will implement the report’s recommendations. The taskforce was formed on February 1, 2024.
