Kathmandu – Amidst the escalating conflict with Iran, U.S. President Donald Trump has departed for a high-profile visit to China. During this visit, a formal meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping is scheduled to take place.
President Trump has proposed formal talks with Xi Jinping in Beijing for this coming Thursday and Friday. This marks Trump’s first visit to China in the last nine years.
Before his departure, Trump stated that he intends to have lengthy discussions with Xi regarding the Iran situation. He issued a stern warning to Iran, asserting that they will face significant damage if they fail to reach a deal. Trump further noted that the United States maintains both military and diplomatic options on the table.
Previously, Iran had warned that if it were attacked again, it could move toward enriching uranium up to 90 percent. Analysts suggest that China’s role could be pivotal in resolving the Iran crisis, as China is considered Iran’s primary economic and strategic partner.
