Kathmandu, July 12: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has expressed sorrow over the incident in which two passenger buses were swept away by landslide at Simaltal in Narayangadh-Muglin road section.
President Deuba, in a press statement, said that he was saddened by the news of missing of round 65 passengers when two buses plunged into Trishuli river early this morning.
Deuba, also former Prime Minister, has drawn attention of the government towards the huge loss of lives and properties at different places of the country due to landslide, flood and inundation.
He urged the government to work at the war footing for search, rescue and relief package operation and relocation of disaster survivors to safer places, treatment of the injured ones in the disasters.
He urged one and all to take into account the prospects of monsoon-induced disasters and work on the disaster response efforts with high alertness.
Furthermore, he requested the three-tier government to coordinate efforts for early disaster preparedness besides instructing the party cadres and leaders for their active involvement in the rescue and relief operation, the statement stated.
